Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Quality Assurance Technician to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about food safety, product quality, and continuous improvement.
- Hourly Rate: £13.21
- Start Times: Between 5am and 6am, depending on shift requirements
- Flexibility: May occasionally be asked to cover backshift
- Backshift Allowance: £6.50 per shift when covering backshift
About the Role
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety, legality, and product quality. Working closely with QA and Production teams, you’ll carry out routine assessments, support audits, and ensure compliance with technical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and input samples for analysis according to the schedule
- Conduct swabbing and ingredient/packaging inspections
- Verify and calibrate measuring equipment, liaising with external providers
- Maintain documentation for glass, hard plastic, and start-up audits
- Support complaint reduction initiatives and run taste panels
- Assess product quality across various stages (SOL, EOL, shelf life)
- Organise and control factory paperwork for traceability and audits
- Manage consumables and confirm detection methods for items like plasters and pens
- Contribute to site audit traceability and drive QA system improvements
- Comply with company policies and support additional project work as needed

- Taste panel schedule compliance
- Audit readiness and procedural compliance
- Accuracy in data input and swabbing schedules
- Up-to-date calibration matrix and equipment verification
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in the food industry
- Level 2 Food Safety qualification or higher
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a similar QA role
