Production Operative

Redditch • Full time • Permanent • Up to £26k depending on experience • Hours of work 7am - 4pm Monday to Friday 

Our Redditch-based client is gearing up for the next phase of expansion and is actively seeking a dedicated Production Operative. The primary responsibility of the role is to produce an exceptional standard of work guaranteeing customers’ requirements are met.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual with a passion for production and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude. A great eye for detail, and a real drive for producing quality work. Day to day duties and responsibilities for the Production Operative role

  • Work safely at all times, in accordance with the companies Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Counterbalance FLT licence (preferred).
  • Ensure daily work centre output targets are met or exceeded.
  • Maintain records, reporting relevant information and preparing any necessary documentation.
  • Carry out basic TPM activities.
  • Communicating and coordinating with other departments when necessary.
  • Carry out QC checks throughout production run to ensure the product conforms to customer specification and reduce the non-conformances.
  • Maintaining a hight level of cleanliness and organisation of the machinery and surrounding work area.
  • Contributing to all stages of the manufacturing process.
  • Reporting of any machine faults/breakdowns to the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Any other task determined to be in the interests of efficient operation.

What you'll need to succeed in our Production Operative role

  • Excellent track record of time keeping and attendance.
  • Possess an Engineering and Mechanical mindset with demonstrable & relevant experience.
  • A high degree of accuracy with an eye for detail.
  • The ability to set and operate various items of machinery and equipment associated with box making, slitting and die-cutting processes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The skill and desire to contribute to Continuous Improvement activities in the area.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and prioritisation skills, with an ability to work to deadlines and targets.
  • A flexible and positive individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
