Our client, a leading construction company, based in Redditch, is seeking a Materials Buyer to join their family-run business.
We are recruiting for an individual to join our first class buying team at our head office in Redditch. The successful applicant will have a knowledge of groundwork and civil materials and a strong will to progress their career and add value to the company. Builders merchant background welcomed, but not essential.
What are the day-to-day duties of the Materials Buyer?
- Source and procure materials, goods, and services.
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed to make purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels using SAP ERP or similar systems.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of materials to make informed buying decisions.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Utilise knowledge of groundwork and civil materials in purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments as needed
- Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to enhance skills
- Support the buying team in meeting company objectives and targets

- Knowledge of groundwork construction materials and civils
- Adequate computer literacy and admin qualities.
