Management Accountant • Birmingham • Salary £25000 - £30000 DOE • Permanent full time

We are working with a growing and highly reputable facilities management contractor who are a genuinely fantastic company to work for, look after their staff well, and have established and stable contracts nationwide. We are now looking for a Management Accountant to join their team.

As a Management Accountant your main responsibilities will be;

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To assist the SMA and finance teams across the business in maintaining effective accounts  production and financial control
  • Constantly challenge the subjective judgments within the management reporting.
  • Driving change initiatives to maximise performance.
  • Share knowledge and implement best practice. 
  • To assume responsibility for daily transactions ensuring they are recorded in a timely and accurate manner and balance sheet accounts are all fully reconciled.
  • To ensure delivery and maintenance of high-quality financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow reporting to aid business decision making.
  • Provide variance analysis and commentaries on key business drivers 
  • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
  • Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements.
  • Ensure timely completion of all accounting entries at month-end.
  • Production of margin report at month-end and ensuring sales/cost of sales are properly accounted for.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounting packs and balance sheet reconciliations per month-end reporting deadlines.
  • To assist commercial and operational managers across the business to promote efficiency and apply challenge where necessary.
  • Supporting ongoing systems enhancements and processes.
  • Assist with the statutory audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Assist the finance team and wider business as required.

To be considered for our Management Accountant role;

  • Must have experience in a similar accounting role preparing management accounts
  • Strong excel skills
  • Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Highly numeric/strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Personally driven with the ability to prioritise 
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
  • Good organisational skills
  • Part qualified ACCA/CIMA

Management Accountant Salary & Benefits

  • Salary £28000 - £35000 DOE
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Pension contribution
  • Hybrid role to work from home but must be able to commute to Erdington offices at least once a week
