Senior Accounts Assistant | Alcester | Up to £40,000
Are you a highly experienced transactional finance professional looking for a senior, hands-on role within a supportive team?
Arden Personnel is recruiting for a Senior Accounts Assistant to join a fantastic manufacturing and assembly business based in Alcester.
This is an exciting time to join the 5-strong finance team. With the business currently rolling out a new 'Expenses In' platform and preparing to migrate to SAP S4 HANA this year, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth handover and supporting these system improvements.
We are looking for someone with a wealth of prior experience who can hit the ground running, see the "bigger picture," and bring a positive outlook to the team.
The Details
- Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Location: Alcester, Warwickshire
- Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Your Key Responsibilities
This is a senior hands-on position (with no direct reports). Your day-to-day duties will be heavily focused on Accounts Payable, with additional Accounts Receivable duties:
- Accounts Payable (Primary Focus): Managing end-to-end AP, with suppliers forwarding invoices directly to the site.
- Banking & Invoicing: Processing invoices, daily banking operations, and managing staged payments/deposits.
- Accounts Receivable: Handling AR duties, including partly intercompany transactions.
- Expenses Management: Taking charge of manual expenses and transitioning to the new 'Expenses In' platform. You will need to be a "people person" to gently but effectively chase salesmen and engineers for timely, accurate submissions!
- Team Support: Being a flexible team player who supports the wider finance function during busy periods.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience First: You can be Qualified by Experience (QBE) or hold an AAT qualification. The ability to do the job and prioritise tasks is the most important factor.
- Systems: Previous experience using SAP is highly advantageous as the business prepares for its S4 HANA upgrade.
- Industry Knowledge: A background in manufacturing or project-based businesses (dealing with deposits and staged payments) would be a massive bonus.
- Personality: A positive, flexible problem-solver with excellent communication skills.
