Our client, a leading construction company, based in Redditch, is seeking a Junior Buyer to join their family-run business.
You will support the procurement team by managing purchasing activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisitions. Your role will involve liaising with suppliers, negotiating prices, and maintaining accurate records to support the needs of the business.
What are the day-to-day duties of the Junior Buyer?
- Assist in the procurement of construction materials.
- Assist in sourcing and procuring materials, goods, and services.
- Assisting in evaluating suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed to make purchasing decisions.
- Assisting in the maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels using SAP ERP or similar systems.
- Assisting in monitoring market trends, pricing, and availability of materials to make informed buying decisions.
- Ensuring timely delivery of goods while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Utilising knowledge of groundwork and civil materials in purchasing decisions.
- Collaborating with team members and other departments as needed
- Engaging in ongoing learning and professional development to enhance skills
- Supporting the buying team in meeting company objectives and targets
What skills and experience do I need for this Junior Buyer?
- Knowledge of groundwork construction materials and civils is an advantage
- Adequate computer literacy and admin qualities.
- Works well in a team.
- Commercially aware.
- Ambitious and self-motivated.
- Work well under supervision and on their own initiative.
