HR Assistant • Shottery • up to £23,740 • Permanent position

We are working on behalf of a charity based in Shottery.  To provide full administrative support to the HR department.

As a HR Assistant, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Undertake a review of the volunteer journey from recruitment to a volunteer leaving.
  • Review / create associated paperwork for each stage of the volunteer journey
  • Link with other companies to learn about different models of using volunteers and to share best practice for volunteers
  • Review the register of volunteers and create an active list of volunteers
  • Assist department managers with the recruitment of volunteers and undertake any necessary checks and paperwork
  • Liaise with Team Leaders as appropriate to support them to manage volunteers
  • Ensure volunteer files are kept up to date and maintain records as required
  • Assist with the creation of a volunteer handbook and other relevant policies
  • Assist with the identification of the training 
  • Implement regular communications with all volunteers in a variety of settings
  • Deal with all recruitment enquires from potential volunteers and keep a track of those going through the recruitment process
  • Liaise with department managers on a regular basis to ensure any volunteer leavers are removed from the register and files archived as needed
  • Ensure that any other statutory requirements in respect of volunteers are complied with
  • Maintain records and produce reports and statistics as required on volunteer activity and service outcomes/impact
  • Keep up to date with local and national developments in the use of volunteers and to be aware of possible sources of statutory assistance and funding
  • Assist the HR Manager in any HR related tasks associated with the employment life cycle
  • Provide admin cover in the absence of the HR Manager and Admin Coordinator as appropriate.

To be considered for our HR Assistant role

  • Previous HR experience/CIPD qualification would be a huge advantage but not essential
  • Previous Admin Experience
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Very good communication skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Great attention to detail

What’s on Offer? As a HR Assistant, you will be entitled to

  • up to £23,740 and some scope if you have HR experience
  • Monday to Friday 09.00-17.00
  • Working for an established charity 
  • 27 days holiday plus bank holiday
