Location: Stratford-upon-Avon (Office-Based) Salary: Competitive Base Salary + Performance Commission Contract: Full-Time; Permanent (Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00)
Are you a commercially minded Hire Desk Sales Executive with experience in the Construction industry? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist in the Civil Engineering sector. They are looking for a results-driven individual to join their team in Stratford-upon-Avon to support the continued growth of their UK market share.
The Role
This is a 100% office-based, hands-on role focused on high-volume, transactional sales. Unlike strategic field sales, this position is about operational execution—managing inbound enquiries, producing accurate quotations at speed, and converting leads into orders.
You will act as the pivot point between sales and operations, ensuring that stock availability, delivery planning, and logistics scheduling align with customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Execution: Handling a high volume of inbound calls and emails, preparing accurate hire and sales quotations, and proactively chasing them to secure orders.
- Business Development: Conducting outbound calls to existing customers and new prospects to generate repeat business.
- Operational Coordination: Liaising with the yard, transport, and operations teams to coordinate deliveries and hire contracts.
- Administration: Processing orders through Sage and CRM systems, maintaining accurate customer data, and providing cover for general office administration during holiday periods.
The Ideal Candidate:
To succeed in this fast-paced environment, you must have proven experience in an Internal Sales, Hire Desk, or Trade Counter role.
- Experience: Background in construction, plant hire, or a product-based environment is highly advantageous.
- Skills: Strong computer literacy (experience with HubSpot, Sage, or similar systems is desirable).
- Attributes: You must be organized, able to multitask under pressure, and possess a confident telephone manner.
Benefits:
- Competitive base salary £30,000-£40,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
- Sales and performance-based commission.
