About the Company
Our client, is a well-established home improvements and trade supercentre based in Evesham, with an additional site serving the Cotswolds. They supply a wide range of products including windows, doors, roofing solutions, conservatories and ancillary building products, working with both trade and retail customers.
Known locally for quality, reliability and personal service, they combine their own installation teams with long-term supplier partnerships and are proud to be highly rated by customers. Due to continued growth and the desire to strengthen leadership at site level, they are now looking to appoint a Flagship Trade Centre Manager to take ownership of the Evesham trade operation and oversee the Cotswolds trade site.
What will be the day-to-day responsibilities for the Flagship Trade Centre Manager role?
You’ll be the senior on-site leader for the flagship Evesham site, responsible for the team, customer experience and P&L, while also providing operational and commercial oversight to the Cotswolds site manager.
This is a hands-on people leadership and commercial role, you’ll be on the shop floor, at the trade counter and out with customers as much as you are in the office looking at numbers. You’ll work closely with the GM and Commercial Director to deliver growth, profitability and excellent customer care, taking day-to-day operational stress and responsibility off their shoulders.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management

Lead, motivate and develop the Evesham team, setting clear standards and expectations

Provide leadership and support to the Cotswolds site manager, ensuring consistency across both locations

Take ownership for staffing, recruitment, training and performance management for the trade teams

Build a positive, accountable culture focused on service, safety and commercial performance

Hold regular team meetings, 1:1s and reviews to keep everyone aligned and engaged
Commercial & Customer Focus

Own the P&L for the Evesham site, driving sales, margin and profit growth
-
Work with the GM on pricing, promotions and product mix to maximise margin
-
Develop relationships with key trade customers, understanding their pipelines and upcoming projects

Proactively grow spend and retention of existing trade accounts and win new active trade customers

Monitor and improve customer care metrics, complaints, resolution times, repeat business and feedback
Operations & Service Standards

Ensure the trade centres runs smoothly day-to-day – stock, merchandising, housekeeping and H&S
-
Work with the wider team to maintain strong on time, in full performance for orders and deliveries

Oversee stock levels and ordering, working with suppliers and internal teams to ensure availability

Ensure all site operations meet company standards and relevant compliance requirements

Use simple KPIs and dashboards to track performance and drive continuous improvement
Multi-Site & Stakeholder Management

Provide regular updates on performance, people and customer issues to the Operations and Commercial Directors

Work closely with colleagues across the wider group to support cross-selling and joined-up delivery

Share best practice between the Evesham and Cotswolds sites to create a consistent, high-quality customer experience

Represent the trade centres as a figurehead in the local area – with customers, suppliers and partners
What skills and experience do I need for the Flagship Trade Centre Manager role?
Must Haves
-
Proven experience as a Branch Manager / General Manager / Depot Manager in a trade, builders merchants, construction supplies or similar environment

Demonstrable people management experience, leading, coaching and developing a team, including handling performance issues
-
Strong commercial awareness – comfortable with P&L, margin, pricing and basic financial reporting
-
Experience working closely with trade customers (builders, installers, contractors or similar)
-
Track record of improving sales, profit and customer service in a site-based role
-
Confident communicator, able to build credibility with directors, staff, customers and suppliers
-
Highly organised, able to juggle operational details with bigger-picture planning
-
Positive, hands-on leadership style, leads by example on the shop floor as well as in meetings
Nice to have but not essential

Experience in windows, doors, roofing or wider home improvements
-
Previous multi-site responsibility or experience supporting more than one branch/location
-
Experience working within an independently owned or fast-growing SME environment
-
Familiarity with customer care metrics (complaints, OTIF, reviews, NPS or similar) and using them to drive improvement
