Up to £42,500 DOE + bonus + £75 per week on-call allowance | Permanent, full time, office based
This one needs a manager with backbone. A busy branch, a relatively new team, and a real opportunity for someone who leads firmly, fairly and from the front.
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, privately funded home care provider for a Branch Care Manager to lead their Wantage branch. It's one of the larger branches in the region by care hours, and the team is still bedding in — so they need someone who can bring structure, consistency and confidence quickly.
You'll hold the CQC registration for the branch, lead the office team, and own both care quality and commercial performance.
What you'll be doing
- Leading, embedding and developing a growing branch team — typically a Care Coordinator and Field Care Supervisor, plus your carer team
- Setting clear standards and holding people to them, fairly and consistently
- Holding the registration for the location and driving a genuine 100% compliance culture
- Preparing for and performing well at CQC inspection
- Growing care hours sustainably and profitably
- Building strong relationships with GPs, district nurses, discharge teams, safeguarding and local community groups
- Managing the branch budget, KPIs and business performance
- Taking part in the branch on-call rota
What you'll need
- Proven management experience in domiciliary care (registered manager experience preferred, but a strong care management background will be considered)
- A firm but fair leadership style — you're comfortable setting standards with a team that's still forming
- Solid CQC knowledge and experience of inspection preparation
- Commercial awareness — you can grow a branch without compromising care quality
- Strong people management: recruitment, retention, development, performance
- Resilience, initiative and a solutions-focused approach
- A full driving licence valid for use in the UK and access to a vehicle (or the ability to travel reliably across the branch area)
- The right to work in the UK
What's on offer
- Base salary up to £42,500, dependent on experience
- Bonus scheme (non-guaranteed) on top of base
- £75 per week on-call allowance when you're on the rota
- Central support from dedicated recruitment, marketing and compliance teams
- A private-pay client base — no local authority contracts
- A two-stage interview process: first with the Area Care Manager, second with the Head of Operations
Please note: salary is based on experience and is not guaranteed at the maximum level. Bonus is not guaranteed. Full details will be discussed at interview.
