What will my day to day duties be for this Accountant position?

  • Providing unwavering support to a diverse portfolio of clients year-round.
  • Skillfully preparing accounts, Corporation Tax returns, and Personal Tax returns up to the final review stage.
  • Navigating the world of VAT returns with ease through Making Tax Digital.
  • Expertly liaising with HMRC and adeptly managing associated inquiries.
  • Being the go-to problem solver for clients, offering sage advice and resolving account queries.
  • Identifying and conducting in-depth research on any technical issues that may arise, providing apt solutions.
  • Being a versatile team player, ready to assist with ad hoc project work when needed.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with your talented colleagues.

What Qualifications and Competencies Do You Need for This Accountant Role?

  • A proven track record in a similar role 
  • Proficiency in Xero and a history of working with clients who rely on this software.
  • A robust technical skill set encompassing all facets of accounts and tax preparation, including the ability to prepare up to the final review stage.
  • Adeptness in Microsoft Excel, including formula use and data management.
  • A hunger for staying updated with the latest technical knowledge and industry trends.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptability, innovation, and the ability to work proactively and independently.
  • Flexibility to meet stringent deadlines and effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • A keen eye for detail and a conscientious approach to your work.
  • A willingness to contribute and support various facets of the business.
  • Familiarity with HMRC's online portal for filing.
  • Experience with a range of cloud accounting software would be advantageous.
  • While not essential, knowledge of payroll and PAYE is a valued bonus.
